Our Official Los Cabos Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary

Our Official Los Cabos Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary

It’s hard to believe that less than a week ago, we were sipping margaritas on a boat cruising around the arches in Cabo for Kelda’s bachelorette party. What a dream! For all brides out there, soak in every second of your wedding events - they go SO quickly!!

As you know, Cabo has such a special place in our hearts. It’s where I got married (Cabo wedding guides HERE) and now where Kelda celebrated her bachelorette weekend. It has something for everyone - adventure, relaxation, party scene, incredible cuisine and reliably sunny weather. We love nothing more than helping others to plan their perfect Cabo trip and fall in love with it just as much as we have!

In this post, we’ll share the exact itinerary from Kelda’s bachelorette weekend, as well as answer some of the most frequently asked questions that we received on Instagram. This guide can be flexed for any Cabo trip, but we also recommend checking out our OG Cabo guide HERE.

friday

3 PM - Check into Airbnb. We stayed in the cutest home linked HERE! Perfect for a group of 6. Three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, expansive rooftop with a prime view of the arches and plenty of space to hang out and relax. I had arranged for a Welcome Package of appetizers and margaritas to be served upon arrival. It was a great way to kick off the weekend celebrations and ensure people had a light snack after traveling. I used EAT Cabo and the cost was $80. Kelda also set up welcome gifts on everyone’s bed during this time - SO cute!! The welcome gifts included Eat Deux cookie dough, Sun Bum sunscreen, Slip hair ties, Summer Fridays lip balm, Mario Badescu Facial Spray, sunglasses, clips, koozies, a handwritten note and more! Highly recommend planning a gesture like this to thank your girls for taking the time and money to celebrate you.

4 PM - Costco/Grocery Run. Most Airbnbs, including ours, have a service that will do a Costco run for you, but as our Airbnb was actually just next door to Costco, we opted to do it ourselves. Kelda and the rest of the girls headed over to Costco to pick up alcohol, water and some snacks. This gave me the chance to set up some decorations! I kept the decorations relatively simple - BRIDE letter balloons, tropical confetti, pink and gold balloons and personalized gift bags for the girls. I didn’t want to pass on the cost of decorations to the rest of the group, so I budgeted about $100 for decor and got what I could with that! All ordered from Etsy.

6PM - Veuve and Photo Time. Time for everyone to freshen up and get ready for our first night. We were able to time it perfectly to enjoy some Veuve on our rooftop at sunset - perfect for photos - and to kick off the evening! I provided everyone a card with outfit ideas a few months in advance of the trip. It can be overwhelming on a group trip, especially one where you might not know everyone, to decide what to pack/wear, so I thought an outfit ideas card would be helpful! For Night One, the suggestion was Vacation Casual - Bright Sundresses, Linen Sets, Shorts.

8PM - Dinner at The Office. Located in the heart of Medano Beach, The Office is a rite of passage for any Cabo visitor. While it’s not a place that I regularly return on Cabo trips, it’s a place that everyone should check off once. The Office was actually the first restaurant to open on Medano Beach, making the area what it is today. The tables are located directly on the sand which is a fun experience and there is a canopy of colored paper flags directly above you, along with fire torches for light in the evening. There is always a very lively atmosphere which makes it a dependable pick for a group. We had live music and a firework show during our visit! We quite literally closed the restaurant down and were the last group to leave.

TO NOTE: The Office has a noticeably Spring Break vibe to it, which is why I say it’s not a place I would regularly return to on vacations here. Rambo comes around to each table to pour shots in everyone’s mouths and there are vendors surrounding the border of the restaurant, trying to sell souvenirs to each table. It’s definitely not for everyone and important to be aware of this atmosphere before visiting.

11 PM - Night Caps. We opted to head back to our Airbnb to enjoy champagne in our hot tub. However, The Office is located in very close proximity to some of Cabo’s famous nightlife spots. If this is your vibe and you want a wild night out, we’d recommend The Giggling Marlin, Happy Ending, La Vaquita and El Squid Roe to end the night.

saturday

10 AM - Boat Day! We were very thankful to wake up sans hangover and be able to fully enjoy our Boat Day - one of the activities we had most been looking forward to on the trip! I booked our boat through Sunshine Adventures linked HERE. We booked their 37’ Nova which was perfect for a group of our size - 6. We had a private boat with a captain and first mate/chef. Our booking included a fully catered lunch - fresh fruit, guac/chips, ceviche, chicken quesadillas, steak tacos and more! You can choose your own menu from their offering. It also included an open bar which we took appropriate advantage of!

Our outing lasted 4 hours and we couldn’t have had a better time. We visited during whale watching season and had the pleasure of seeing countless whales right next to our boat which was truly such a moving and unexpected experience. We also got to dock and swim in the waters of Chileno Bay. The crew decorated the boat and provided celebratory prosecco and a cake for Kelda! The total cost for our group of 6 was about $1300 + cash tip. Looking back, I think 6 hours would have been the perfect amount of time. We definitely weren’t ready to head back at the end of our time, but, budgets can only go so far of course!

The outfit suggestion for the boat day was bright colored swimsuits - hot pinks, cobalt blues, neon yellows, etc. If you’re someone who is into getting the best pictures, providing suggested outfits is a great way to make everything look cohesive. If you’re going to do this, we’d definitely suggest picking a theme (like bright colors) that’s more general and reduces the chances that people will have to go buy something.

NOTE: A great playlist is a must for any boat day - and a bachelorette weekend in general! Ours is available for download HERE. Feel free to use it as a starting point and edit as you see fit. I also gifted everyone matching pink Turkish towels for our boat day. I knew people likely wouldn’t pack towels in their carry ons and that we might not want to take the towels from the Airbnb just in case!

3PM - We headed back to our Airbnb after our Boat Day to enjoy the pool, drinks, relax, but you could definitely opt to hit up some of the Cabo San Lucas beachfront bars after your boat excursion! There are day clubs at many of the beachfront hotels in the area that could be a fun next stop. I’ve heard good things about Taboo, but haven’t been yet!

6PM - Sunset Drinks at The Cape. If you’ve been following us for 2.5 seconds, then you know we love a Thompson Hotel rooftop. The Cape may be our very favorite. You’ll want to make reservations well in advance and try to time them for about 30 minutes-1 hour before sunset. You can always add a note that you’d like a table along the edge for the best view and cross your fingers that they can accommodate. The Cape is definitely a nicer, high end spot - VERY different than the bars along Medano Beach. If you foresee members of your group being very drunk upon arrival, we’d probably suggest saving The Cape for another time.

Sadly, our reservation at The Cape ended up being cancelled a week or two prior due to a wedding that had been booked more last minute. This has never happened to us before and you should be pretty safe with your reservation!

8 PM - Dinner at Acre Baja. My wedding venue and a stop we always have to make on every Cabo trip. Tucked into the mountains, Acre was built quite literally upon an oasis in the desert. You walk into a lush jungle of palm trees, agave plants, cacti and more. You’ll see exotic animals, like peacocks, just strolling around the property. It’s pretty magical and the food is some of the best we’ve had in Cabo as well. You MUST order the Cheddar Biscuits.

To note, Acre is a decent drive away from Cabo San Lucas - about 40 minutes total. We think it’s absolutely worth the visit, but your group may not be up for the journey. The restaurant closes at 10 (we left at 10:30), so not a place you can drive to and spend all night. You could stop in downtown San Jose afterwards for drinks and a night out if you desired though!! Alternatively, you could swap the order of events this evening and do an earlier dinner at Acre and drinks at The Cape afterwards as it stays open later and has a good nighttime vibe.

The outfit idea for our Acre dinner was neutral or white colored dresses. Instead of the typical bride wears white, bridesmaids wear black, Kelda wanted to wear a hot pink dress, so I asked everyone else to wear muted colors so that she really stood out. Not everyone feels comfortable wearing white, so I suggested tan, beige, gold/silver sequin, etc as alternate options.

sunday

Our favorite day!!

12 PM - Lunch at Bagatelle. As with any bachelorette weekend, you don’t want to plan too many activities that start super early. However, I definitely think 11AM would have been doable for our group and I overestimated how extreme people’s hangovers might be.

We literally want to move into Bagatelle Los Cabos. If you’re unfamiliar, Bagatelle is a chain that has locations in various high-end vacation spots. It embodies the French joie de vivre and is known for blue and white decor, live DJ sets, permission to dance on tables (in a classy way) and is exactly what comes to mind when you think about the perfect setting to drink rose and eat oysters and fries. Perhaps we’re the only ones that dream about this so often…We spent 3 hours at Bagatelle, but could have easily spent the full day here.

Outfit suggestion for this day was light colored dresses/sets/cover ups. Think white linen, South of France vibes.

3 PM - SUR Beach House. Next up, we booked a cabana at SUR Beach House, a spot we’ve been to previously and loved. Our cabana was right on the beach and you can order bottle service or just individuals drinks and apps if you desire. You can reserve a cabana for an 8:30 - 1 PM max time block or 1 PM - 6 PM. It’s a great place to pass the day and definitely has a more adult feel than the other spots along Medano Beach. SUR has a wonderful restaurant as well, so it could be fun to do brunch at the restaurant and then spend the rest of the day lounging at the Beach House.

NOTE: If you reserve a cabana, there is a $100 minimum spend per person. If you spend 5 hours here and get snacks too, it’s not a hard number to hit, but important to know going into it!

7 PM - Catered Dinner. Kelda treated us all to a catered dinner at our Airbnb through Eat Cabo as another thank you to the group. (World’s best bride!) There are countless catering services available through various companies in Cabo and we would definitely recommend this for a bach weekend! The cost was about $55/person. There was also an option to add a bartender and drinks, but we opted to enioy the champagne and wine we had purchased at Costco.

9 PM - PJ Party and Game Night! This was SO much fun!! I gifted the girls matching pajama sets (linked HERE) and got Kelda an extra special pair that can also double as a getting ready outfit on the Big Day (linked HERE). I opted not to do the typical “swag” bags that are common on bachelorette weekends and do the pajamas, beach towels and Welcome Package instead. Kelda also surprised us with the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask (our holy grail product!) and these ADORABLE matching slippers (linked HERE).

I asked two of Kelda’s girlfriends to handle the games and they killed it!! The games we played included:

  • Lingerie Shower - I asked everyone to bring a little something special for Kelda, along with a handwritten note. I gifted Kelda this white bodysuit and added in the Wedding Day earrings that I knew she had her eye on.

  • Jenga - The girls picked up a blank Jenga set and throughout the weekend, we each would sporadically write different dares, questions, challenges, etc. on each block to design the game which was really fun!

  • Ask The Groom - Kelda’s friends coordinated with Elliot in advance of the weekend to ask him a variety of questions about Kelda and she had to guess his answers! While this is a pretty standard bachelorette game, I wouldn’t discount playing it. Brides ALWAYS love it and get so emotional hearing their future spouse’s responses!

  • Kelda Jeopardy - This was absolutely epic!! Kelda’s friends made a giant Jeopardy board with 8 categories all about her. Categories included Hello HENRYs (!!), Real Housewives, Kelda Facts, Ireland and more! Each question was pre-printed on index cards and complete with pictures. It was SO thoughtful and well-done.

monday

11 AM - Check out of Airbnb and head home!

I should also note that Kelda and I arrived two nights prior to enjoy some 1:1 sister time. Sharing a few of the acitivities that we did below. These activities could definitely be added on to your own bachelorette weekend plans…

  • Dinner at Flora Farms. Flora Farms is located next door to Acre and is also a bit of a trek outside of town. In our opinion, Flora Farms is the place to go in the daytime and Acre in the evening. We’d recommend doing Flora Farms for brunch if your schedule allows!

  • Spa Day at Flora Farms Spa. Obsessed. Kelda and Elliot had gifted me a soaking tub session and a massage for my 30th birthday and then Kelda added on a blowout as a thank you for planning the bachelorette weekend. We had the BEST time at the spa and would definitely return again!!

  • Dinner at Los Tres Gallos - This is where Zach + I had our rehearsal dinner and we LOVE it. We tried their new San Jose location on this trip, but they do have a location in San Lucas as well. This would be the perfect spot for a dinner if The Office isn’t your scene.

frequently asked questions…

How did you get around?

For getting to and from the airport in Los Cabos, we always recommend pre-booking private transportation. On this trip, we used Cabo Airport Shuttle linked HERE. I had all of the girls send me their flight info in advance and booked rides for everyone accordingly. Everyone had an incredible experience and we would highly recommend!

For getting around while in Cabo, I had also pre-booked all taxis for our activities. This ensured we would arrive everywhere on time. For returning home after each activity, we just requested Ubers as I wouldn’t have known in advance what time we would wrap up at each place.

Was three nights enough time?

Kelda and I had done 2 nights prior to the rest of the group arriving and a few of the girls ended up staying the remainder of the week following for their Spring Break, so there was definitely an appetite from most of the group to spend more than 3 nights in Cabo. However, for a bachelorette weekend, we think 3 nights is already a lot to ask of people, so we were happy to let people decide on their own how many additional days they would want to do. If your group does have the desire to spend more time, we think there is more than enough to do to make 4 nights worthwhile for the group.

How did you decide where to stay?

First thing to note. Los Cabos is a HUGE area. It actually refers to two towns - Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo - and it’s approximately a one hour drive end to end, so it’s definitely important to choose your location wisely. As we shared in our Itinerary Planning 101 Guide HERE, we always start by mapping out all of the spots that we would like to visit, dine at, etc. and then select where to stay based on where most of the attraction points are clustered.

While, in general, we prefer San Jose, for the purposes of this trip, most of our plans were actually clustered in San Lucas, so we opted to stay there. As far as how we decided between a resort or an Airbnb, the cost was the deciding factor. Because most of the guests, including Kelda!, are teachers, we were traveling during Spring Break - aka one of the most expensive times of the year. When looking at resorts, we knew we would want a suite so that we could all be together and the costs for those were pretty outrageous - $2000/night and up. We wanted to spend most of our money on the food, drinks and activities and, ultimately, found Airbnbs were significantly less expensive during this time period. After taxes, cleaning fees, etc. our 3 night stay was just $1350 total, less than the average cost of just one night at a resort suite.

I have more questions…

  • For general bachelorette questions, check out this previous guide that Kelda wrote following my LA bachelorette weekend HERE. We cover all of the most commonly asked questions around bachelorette parties in general.

  • For more questions around Cabo and Kelda’s bachelorette weekend in general, we’re answering a full hour of questions on our podcast Bicoastal with Hello HENRYs available on Spotify HERE.

I had the most fun planning this special weekend for Kelda! She went all out for my bachelorette weekend and I knew I had big shoes to fill, but I know it’s a weekend that I will always look back fondly on! Counting down the days to being reunited with the group and celebrating the Big Day!!
